TEACHER OPEN HOUSE
Brevard Zoo invites teachers to attend the 14th annual Teacher Open House Thursday, September 2 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Zoo. Teachers can experience hands-on animals, visit with exhibitors from Central Florida, preview upcoming teacher education opportunities, receive informational handouts and freebies, win door prizes, and enjoy complimentary food provided by the Zoo.

More than 25 exhibitors will be on site including: BCC Planetarium; Brevard Art Museum School; Brevard County Solid Waste; BWRCT-City of Melbourne; BWRCT- City of Palm Bay;E.E.L. Program; Dolphin Girl Cruises & Eco Tours; Erna Nixon Park; F.I.T. Math & Science Dept.; Florida Public Archaeology Network; Florida Wildlife Hospital; Forever Florida/ Florida Eco Safaris; Hidden Potentials; Honor America; IRL National Estuary Program; Keep Brevard Beautiful; NASA-Kennedy Space Center Education Programs; Orlando Science Center; Riverwalk Nature Center-Brev. Parks & Rec.; St. John’s Water Management District; Storm Water Utilities; The Harry T. & Harriette V. ZOO ACADEMY

      TODDLER PROGRAMS / ZOO TOTS- Brevard Zoo’s toddler programs provide enriching opportunities for children ages 2 to 4 to experience nature in a safe, healthy, and happy environment. Our goal is to nurture the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth of each child within a creative and caring atmosphere.      HOMESCHOOL / JR. ZOO CREW- Brevard Zoo now offers Jr. Zoo Crew classes for parent educators and students ages five and older! The program debuts in September with Animal Kingdom followed by Adaptations in October. These modules are structured for both parent educators and students to participate together. Learn more »

FLYING WILD
Flying WILD, a program of the Council for Environmental Education, introduces students to bird conservation through standards-based classroom activities. Brevard Zoo is a City Partner for Flying WILD, and therefore, we incorporate these standards into our Zoo School, Zoo Explorer, scouting, overnight/night hike, camps, and other educational program offerings.
